GMC Z3450 Leakage Current Adapter DIN VDE 0107/0705

The Z3450 measuring device for leakage current is an attachment unit for RMS multimeters for the measurement of the contact potential according to DIN VDE 0107 Clause 10, and for the measurement of constantly flowing leakage and patient auxiliary currents according to DIN VDE 0750 Part 1 / IEC 601-1 / EN 60 601-1:1990 (Medical electrical equipment - general requirements for safety).

Safety precautions

The measuring device for leakage current is a measuring facility according to DIN VDE 0750 Part 1, Figure 15. It must only be used for its intended purpose! Note the permissible values of constantly flowing leakage and patient auxiliary currents. Prior to and after conclusion of a measurement, check the function of the measuring device, e.g. by a measurement of the ohmic input and output resistance:

Input resistance:

- 1 k-Ohm +/-0.5% with servicable fuse
- Infinity with unservicable fuse

Output resistance:

- with open input 11 K Ohm
- with closed input 10 K Ohm

DMM Meter requirements:

You need a meter that is capable of measuring the root-mean-square values of DC and AC voltages up to 10V. The lowest measuring range should have a resolution of at least 0.1mV so that the smallest permissible values of the leakage and patient auxiliary currents of 10 micro-A (according to DIN VDE 0750 Part 1, Table 4) can still be acquired sufficiently exact. 10 micro-A measuring current correspond to a display value of 10 mV. The meter input sockets should have the standardized distance of 19mm so that the measuring device for leakage current can be attached without problems.  Please contact us at (732) 632-6400 for meter recommendations.
